Electrical Machines Laboratory

To impart knowledge on Principle of operation and performance of Synchronous motor. To impart knowledge on Construction, principle of operation and performance of induction machines. To impart knowledge on Starting and speed control of three- phase induction motors.

Power Electronics Laboratory

Power electronics laboratory is comprised of experiment kits which are used to perform experiments based on various converter/inverter operations. These experiments further supplement the theoretical knowledge gained by the students in their theory classes. The students gain practical exposure to how different power electronics devices and circuits perform under various load conditions as well as circuit configurations.

Measurement and Instrumentation Laboratory

The Electrical Measurement and Instrumentation laboratory includes use of various bridges both DC and Ac for practical measurement of resistance, capacitance frequency etc. There are also various temperature sensor kits for performing experiments on RTD, Thermocouple, and Thermistor etc. Experiments involving energy meter and wattmeter are also introduced in accordance with the theoretical syllabus. This laboratory helps the students to implement the theoretical knowledge through various experiments contained in the syllabus.

Power System Laboratory

The objective of this laboratory is to impart practical knowledge on developing models for study of load flow, transient’s stability, contingency analysis, unit commitment, economic dispatch and power system protection through programming and simulation in MATLAB & SIMULINK and using Hardware kits.

Control System Laboratory

Control systems laboratory consists of the fundamentals of programming, modeling and designing of linear and nonlinear control systems. In this laboratory we use MATLAB software for programming and simulation of systems. The use of MATLAB software shows the modern approach to control systems and state space approach to the design of control systems.

Basic Electrical Engineering Laboratory

Basic Electrical Engineering Laboratory is common for all the branches. In this laboratory, students are getting familiarized with various Electrical meters (such as Voltmeter, Ammeter, and Wattmeter), Rheostat and their accuracy analysis. The aim of this laboratory is too brought out the important underlying concepts & objectives along with sequential steps to conduct the experiment.

Basic Electrical and Electronics Engineering Laboratory

Basic Electrical and Electronics Engineering Laboratory is a common course for both Mechanical and Civil programs. In this laboratory, students are familiarized with various electrical elements and measuring instruments such as switches, fuses, rheostats, capacitors, inductors, power supplies, voltmeters, ammeters, wattmeter’s, etc. while Implementing different circuits and verifying various theorems to reduce the complexity of electrical networks. The overall aim of this laboratory is to bring out the essential underlying concepts & objectives along with sequential steps to conduct the experiments.

Electrical Simulation Tools Laboratory

The objective of this laboratory is to impart practical knowledge on developing models for study and Design. The use of MATLAB& SIMULINK software shows the modern approach to the design of Electrical tools programming and simulation in MATLAB.

Simulation of Renewable Energy Systems Laboratory

Simulation Lab in Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering is well equipped with modern facilities for the under-graduate courses and research oriented studies. In under-graduate courses, students are divided into small groups so as to give them proper exposure. Laying a strong foundation for young engineers, the laboratory makes the students understand the fundamentals of Renewable Energy System.
