Welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Sri Indu College of Engineering and Technology (An Autonomous Institution) Sheriguda, Ibrahimpatnam, R.R.Dist. Telangana. The Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME) was established in the year 2001 with an intake of 60 seats. At present, the Department offers B.Tech (ME) Undergraduate program with an intake of 30 students .The Department is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTUH), Telangana. Our B. Tech -ME has been twice accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). One UGC Minor research project completed and submitted.

Over the last 20 years, we have grown our expertise and competence in the core Mechanical Engineering curriculum and research. We have a strong undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering (B.Tech.). In the year 2015 our student, MR. CHILUMULA SRIKAR secured Gold Medal in Mechanical Engineering from JNTUH, Hyderabad. Mechanical engineering is one of the oldest branches of engineering. It is also referred to as the “mother” branch of engineering. Another appealing feature of Mechanical engineering is that the application base of this field of study is extremely broad and diverse. Almost all inventions during the ancient period and a vast majority in the modern era are direct contributions of one or the other application of mechanics.

The primary focus of our curriculum is to impart technical know-how to students, promote their problem solving skills and innovation of new technologies. Department offers large number of optional courses for providing wide spectrum of options to the students to pursue their interest. The course contents are periodically updated for introducing new scientific and technological developments. Undergraduate students are encouraged to undertake various research projects. Our department maintains active research groups for carrying out collaborative and interdisciplinary research. We have state of the art research facilities to support our academic programs and research. Our department has a distinguished record in both teaching and research. Faculty members have excellent academic credentials and are highly regarded. In all our efforts, we seek the Lord’s Grace to keep us on the path of virtue, courage, and wisdom.
